Avalanche risk declared in six regions
Due to expected precipitation and temperature fluctuations between March 6 and 11, an avalanche risk has been declared in several regions of Uzbekistan.
The Hydrometeorological Service Agency (UzHydromet) has announced the risk of avalanches in six regions of the country during this period.
Specifically, the risk of avalanches has been declared in the mountainous and adjacent areas of the following regions due to anticipated weather changes:
• Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitob, Kamashi, and Shakhrisabz districts
• Surkhandarya region: Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, and Uzun districts
• Samarkand region: Nurobod, Koshrobod, Samarkand, and Urgut districts
• Jizzakh region: Bakhmal and Zomin districts
• Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Ohangaron, and Parkent districts (mountains of the Chatkal range)
• Namangan region: Pop district
Residents of mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through these regions are urged to take necessary precautions.
