Uzbekistan’s junior ice hockey team wins world championship
Uzbekistan’s junior ice hockey team triumphed in its debut at the U18 World Championship Division III B, held in Thailand. With this victory, the team has secured promotion to Division III A for the next season.

Uzbekistan’s squad demonstrated exceptional performance, securing convincing victories against:
• South Africa (12:0)
• Luxembourg (12:1)
• Turkmenistan (8:2)
• Bosnia and Herzegovina (11:3)
In the decisive final match on March 6, Uzbekistan faced host nation Thailand, clinching a 3:2 victory.
With five minutes remaining, Jasurbek Rustamkhonov scored the game-winning goal. Rustamkhonov, the team captain, delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, recording 22 points (14 goals + 8 assists) in five games and was named tournament MVP.
Additionally, Rustam Ergashev was recognized as the best goaltender of the championship.
Uzbekistan’s national ice hockey team is set to make its debut at the 2025 World Championship Division IV, which will be held in Armenia in April 2025.
