Within the framework of a criminal case initiated following an incident outside the “12” (Twelve) nightclub in Tashkent’s Yakkasaray district, Akmal Shukurov, who had been evading investigation, was extradited from Kazakhstan to Tashkent, the Tashkent Main Internal Affairs Department (MIAD) reported.

On the night of March 15-16, a confrontation broke out in front of the “12” nightclub between Akmal Shukurov and his acquaintance Khurshid A., escalating into a physical altercation. Boris Avakyan attempted to intervene but was struck twice on the head, causing him to lose consciousness. He was hospitalized with a diagnosis of “skull injury and a laceration to the right cheek.”

According to the authorities, the suspect, Akmal Shukurov, went into hiding to avoid the investigation. As a result, a search was issued for him, and he was apprehended in Kazakhstan on March 17.

Charges have been filed under Article 277 (hooliganism) and Article 104 (intentional infliction of serious bodily harm) of the Criminal Code.

“Akmal Shukurov has now been extradited from Kazakhstan to Tashkent, and investigative actions are ongoing. The investigation into this case is being conducted thoroughly and impartially, ensuring the rule of law and the inevitability of punishment for the crime,” the MIAD statement said.
