Uzbekistan’s passenger car imports plummet
In the first two months of 2025, Uzbekistan imported 4,415 passenger cars worth $75.9 million, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Compared to the same period last year, car imports dropped by 13,138 units, from 17,553 to 4,415. In monetary terms, the decline was even more striking, falling from $383.1 million to $75.9 million.
China remained the largest supplier, accounting for the majority of imports, followed by South Korea. The top six countries exporting passenger cars to Uzbekistan during this period were:
• China – 3,149 cars
• South Korea – 1,191 cars
• Japan – 32 cars
• Germany – 11 cars
• United States – 8 cars
• Mexico – 8 cars
In January-February 2024, Uzbekistan imported 455 passenger cars from the US, which fell to 8 units in 2025.
