President Mirziyoyev congratulates hockey players and young athletes for outstanding achievements in Asian championships
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the national hockey team and young Uzbek athletes for their remarkable victories, expressing sincere gratitude to their parents, coaches, and mentors, according to the presidential press service.

The Uzbekistan national hockey team emerged victorious in its division at the World Championship held in Armenia, earning the right to compete in the third division next season. Earlier, in March, the under-18 national hockey team also claimed victory at the World Championship held in Thailand.
Meanwhile, at the Asian U18 Athletics Championships held in Saudi Arabia, Uzbek athletes achieved a historic result by winning a total of 12 medals — 3 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze — securing second place in the overall team standings for the first time in the country’s history.
“These achievements are, first and foremost, the result of our young men and women’s tireless efforts, exceptional skills, strong will, and perseverance. It is also worth noting the vital role of the state’s consistent policy and growing attention to the development of sports. The sports infrastructure in our country has significantly improved, new schools are being opened, and favorable conditions are being created for the professional growth of athletes,” the statement read.
“The president congratulates our hockey players and track-and-field athletes on their great triumphs and expresses deep appreciation to their parents, coaches, and mentors,” the report added.
