Netflix completes historical epic on Amir Temur’s rise to power
According to its creators, the film tells the epic story of the great conqueror’s rise to power, with particular attention to historical accuracy and the atmosphere of the era.

The streaming giant Netflix has completed production of “The Rise of the Last Conqueror”, a film that portrays the life of Amir Temur and his path to power.
The filmmakers emphasize that the story is presented with a strong commitment to historical precision and an immersive depiction of the time period.
“We brought the film to life in the very places where one of the most significant figures of the region lived and fought. That’s priceless for this production,” reads the official statement.
Directed by Jacob Schwartz and written by Matthew Green, the film stars Christian Mortensen as Amir Temur, Mahesh Jadu as Amir Hussein, and Uzbek actress Yulduz Rajabova as Temur’s wife, Uljoy Turkon.
Filming began at the end of 2022 and concluded in the fall of 2024. Production took place in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The movie is currently in post-production, with a premiere expected in late summer 2025.
