Apple tops list as foreign IT companies pay record taxes in Uzbekistan

Foreign technology companies paid more than UZS 181 billion in taxes in Uzbekistan in 2025, according to data released by the State Tax Committee.

The committee noted that Apple emerged as the largest foreign taxpayer in the electronic services sector last year. In total, 78 foreign companies providing electronic services paid UZS 181.3 billion in taxes, marking a 50 percent increase compared with 2024.

Apple led the list with tax payments totaling UZS 49.5 billion. Meta followed closely with UZS 49 billion, while Google paid UZS 44.4 billion. OpenAI ranked next, contributing UZS 11.7 billion, and Booking.com paid UZS 4.3 billion.

Other major foreign companies operating in Uzbekistan’s electronic services market also reported notable tax payments. TikTok paid UZS 3.5 billion, Netflix UZS 1.8 billion, Acca UZS 1.6 billion, Xsolla UZS 1.5 billion, and Amazon UZS 1.4 billion.

Under Uzbekistan’s tax regulations, foreign legal entities providing electronic services are required to submit their tax reports and settle their tax liabilities no later than the 20th day of the month following the reporting quarter.
