Uzavtosanoat in talks with Italian companies on localizing auto parts production
An Italian “Green Fund” will provide a grant to support the introduction of hydrogen-powered public transport in Uzbekistan.

Uzavtosanoat has held discussions with several Italian companies on the localization of auto parts manufacturing in Uzbekistan, according to a press release from the state-owned company.
Between May 21 and 23, a delegation from Uzavtosanoat visited Italy, where they met with the Mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo, to explore opportunities for partnership in the field of mechanical engineering. The parties agreed to organize a business forum in Uzbekistan in 2026 with the participation of industrial companies from Turin.
A dedicated business forum on automotive cooperation between Italy and Uzbekistan also took place in Turin. The event gathered over 120 Italian companies, and Uzavtosanoat held individual B2B meetings with representatives of major firms such as Webasto, Magna, Marelli, Sogefi, Pininfarina, and others.
The discussions focused on the potential for localizing auto parts production in Uzbekistan and launching joint ventures. Working groups have been formed to advance these initiatives, and visits to Uzbekistan by Italian partners are expected in the near future.
Uzavtosanoat also signed a cooperation agreement with the Polytechnic University of Turin for the 2025/2026 academic year. The agreement includes the development of joint educational programs, the involvement of Italian faculty, academic support, and the issuance of internationally recognized diplomas.
Additionally, an agreement was reached to allocate grant funding through Italy’s Green Fund for the implementation of an innovative project introducing hydrogen-fueled public transport in Uzbekistan, along with the necessary infrastructure.
