Scammers in Tashkent caught collecting money under fake interview scheme
An official investigation has been launched by the Chilanzar District Police Department in connection with the incident.
The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs has responded to a viral video circulating on social media showing several individuals allegedly collecting money from citizens under the pretense of conducting interviews.
According to the report, on July 5, in one of the parks in Chilanzar district, three individuals — 21-year-old Sh.S., 24-year-old S.S., and 20-year-old T.A. — were engaging with the public under the guise of taking interviews. They used deceptive pretexts such as raising funds for mosque construction or supporting people with disabilities to fraudulently solicit money.
As a result of prompt action, the identities of these individuals were established, and the money they had collected was seized as physical evidence in the presence of impartial witnesses and duly documented.
At present, a pre-investigation inquiry is being conducted by the Chilanzar District Police Department. A legal decision will be made upon completion of the investigation.
