Electricity and gas theft cause nearly UZS 100 billion in damages to state interests in July
In July, inspections revealed the theft of electricity worth UZS 54.9 billion and gas worth UZS 41.1 billion.
Uzenergoinspektsiya, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, conducted control activities over the past month, uncovering 279 cases of unauthorized use of energy resources by consumers.
According to the inspection results, 27.1 million kWh of electricity (valued at UZS 54.9 billion) and 12.6 million cubic meters of natural gas (worth UZS 41.1 billion) were illegally used, resulting in total estimated damages of UZS 96.086 billion.
In addition, 485 administrative cases were filed for violations of the rules on the use of energy resources by consumers.
Sanctions were imposed on the violators in accordance with the established procedures, and relevant documents were submitted to law enforcement agencies.
