School principal in Andijan dismissed after teachers made to do repair work
The principal was dismissed for failing to prevent teachers from being assigned tasks outside their official duties.
The principal of School No. 42 in Marhamat district, Andijan region, has been dismissed, according to the regional Department of Preschool and School Education.
Earlier, a video had circulated on social media showing teachers carrying out repair work at the school.
“Although staff stated during a conversation that the voluntary clean-up effort was carried out on their own initiative, the school principal, Z.M., was dismissed from their post for failing to prevent teachers from being assigned duties beyond their professional responsibilities,” the statement said.
It was noted that the school was originally built in 1982 and underwent routine repairs in 2005. In 2023, through the “Participatory Budget” initiative, the school received doors and windows worth 1.2 billion UZS. In the 2024 season, the school won an additional 1.3 billion UZS in funding, which was used to build a sports field and modernize the front area of the school. Currently, 74 teachers are educating and mentoring 1,236 students at the school.
