Mirziyoyev and Putin discuss strategic partnership and international issues in phone conversation
On 8 August, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The two leaders discussed pressing bilateral and international issues. President Putin briefed Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the key outcomes of the 6 August talks in Moscow with Steve Witkoff, the special envoy of the US president.
As part of the implementation of top-level agreements, the parties reviewed practical measures to further develop and strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
Special attention was paid to adopting coordinated measures aimed at maintaining the growth momentum of bilateral trade and investment, accelerating cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy, fostering productive regional ties, and continuing business and humanitarian exchanges.
The presidents also reviewed plans for upcoming meetings and events.
