Shavkat Mirziyoyev attends military parade in Beijing marking WWII victory anniversary
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a grand military parade in Beijing dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II. The event was held on Tiananmen Square.
The ceremony was attended by leaders and representatives of more than twenty countries, including the heads of Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Vietnam, Egypt, and others.

In his address, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory, safeguarding peace, and ensuring justice in today’s world.

The parade featured 45 formations of the People’s Liberation Army of China. Newly developed missile systems, tanks, aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles produced by the Chinese defense industry were showcased.
Military parades of this kind have been held in Beijing since 1949. The last large-scale review of the armed forces took place on 1 October 2019, bringing together about 15,000 participants.
