Mirziyoyev and Trump discuss strengthening Uzbekistan–U.S. partnership in phone call

The sides discussed practical aspects of strengthening the Uzbekistan–U.S. strategic partnership and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
According to the presidential press service, the U.S. president highly praised and supported the irreversible reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years to modernize the economy and improve the welfare of the population.
For his part, Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated Donald Trump on the significant achievements of the U.S. administration in domestic and foreign policy. He also highlighted America’s contribution and efforts toward peacefully resolving international and regional conflicts, as well as ensuring global security and stability.
Special attention was given to broadening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The sides reviewed opportunities for advancing business cooperation projects in priority sectors and significantly increasing the volume of trade deals.
It was noted that this month a series of bilateral meetings and negotiations will take place with leading U.S. companies and organizations aimed at building long-term and sustainable partnerships.
The conversation also touched on the fact that next year Uzbekistan’s national football team will, for the first time, take part in the FIFA World Cup to be held in the United States. President Trump sincerely wished the team success in the tournament.
The two leaders exchanged views on pressing international issues, including deepening regional cooperation between Central Asian countries and the United States in the C5+1 format.
President Mirziyoyev invited Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a convenient time. The sides agreed to continue high-level dialogue to advance joint projects and programs in practical cooperation.
