Uzbekistan reaches CAFA-2025 final after 4–0 win over Kyrgyzstan
The Uzbekistan national football team advanced to the final of the CAFA Nations Cup-2025 after beating Kyrgyzstan 4–0 in Tashkent, securing the top spot in their group. The final will be played on 8 September in Tashkent against Iran.
The group stage of the CAFA Nations Cup-2025 concluded in Tashkent. In their last group match, Uzbekistan scored four goals against Kyrgyzstan. The goals were netted by Akmal Mozgovoy, Otabek Shukurov (from a penalty), Igor Sergeev, and Azizbek Turgunboev.
Kyrgyzstan had to play with one man down for more than a half after Valery Kichin was sent off in the 44th minute for rough play.
Following this result, Uzbekistan collected 7 points and topped the group. Oman also finished with 7 points but fell behind on goal difference. Turkmenistan took third place, while Kyrgyzstan finished last.
In Group B, matches were held in Tajikistan, where Iran finished first with 9 points. India came second, Tajikistan third, and Afghanistan ended in last place.
Uzbekistan and Iran will now face each other in the final of the CAFA Nations Cup-2025, to be held on 8 September in Tashkent.
The third-place match will also take place on the same day in Hisor, Tajikistan, between India and Oman.
