On September 9, Minister Laziz Kudratov held talks with the company’s chairman Alfred Benedict. The sides discussed practical aspects of implementing the energy project, which is expected to be located in Khorezm region.
In August 2025, a delegation from Allied Green Ammonia signed a term sheet in Tashkent, creating the legal framework for the project’s implementation, the ministry noted.
During the meeting, both parties emphasized the project’s importance for the development of renewable energy and industrial cooperation in Uzbekistan. It is expected to contribute to strengthening energy security and export potential, as well as “become an important step towards carbon neutrality.”
The project comes as Uzbekistan faces a shortage of aviation fuel. In July, Ulugbek Davlatov, head of the Department of Antimonopoly Regulation, Price and Tariff Control at the Competition Committee, explained that the rise in air ticket prices in Uzbekistan was largely due to fuel shortages. He noted that aviation kerosene accounts for more than half of the ticket cost.
Commenting on the low competition in the aviation fuel market, Davlatov said that five companies are engaged in supplying jet fuel. However, he admitted that most of the fuel at Tashkent Airport is provided by Uzbekistan Airports and Uzbekistan Airways, while Saneg’s share does not exceed 10 percent.
