Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Saint Lucia
Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations with the island nation of Saint Lucia, located in the eastern Caribbean. The permanent representatives of the two countries to the United Nations signed a joint communiqué in New York.

According to the Dunyo news agency, the joint communiqué formalizing diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Saint Lucia was signed in New York by Uzbekistan’s permanent representative to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and Saint Lucia’s permanent representative, Menissa Rambally, on behalf of their respective governments.
The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation within international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies. They also agreed to activate bilateral ties to identify mutually beneficial opportunities for collaboration in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Saint Lucia has become the 163rd country to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan.
