The talks also covered joint efforts through the C5+1 diplomatic platform, which brings the United States together with the five Central Asian countries.
Rubio confirmed the meeting in a social media post, saying the two sides had discussed strengthening bilateral ties and advancing shared economic and regional interests.
“Together, we are working to advance prosperity of both our countries and the region,” Rubio wrote.
