Number of traffic violations in Uzbekistan falls by 58% after points system launch
Since the introduction of the new system, the number of detected violations has decreased by 58% compared to last year.
On June 1, Uzbekistan launched a system of penalty points for traffic violations. The Department of Public Safety under the Interior Ministry has released statistics for the first three months.
During this period, more than 60,000 drivers received penalty points, including:
- 4 drivers – up to 5 points
- 14 drivers – up to 4 points
- 129 drivers – up to 3 points
- 4,976 drivers – up to 2 points
- 63,974 drivers – up to 1 point
At the same time, more than 9.325 million drivers did not receive a single penalty point.
In June–August 2024, more than 285,000 violations were recorded, while in the same period of 2025 the figure fell to 167,000. This represents a 58% decrease.
A positive trend has also been observed in road accidents. In June–August 2024, drivers were responsible for 531 traffic accidents, while in 2025 the number declined to 338 – a 36% reduction.
The department emphasized that the measures introduced have led to a significant decrease in both violations and road accidents.
