Uzbekistan ranks 30th globally for lowest gasoline prices
As of September 14, Uzbekistan ranked 30th in the world for cheapest fuel prices, according to a report by Ranking.kz.
The average price of gasoline in Uzbekistan stood at $0.98 per liter, placing the country in this position among 127 states included in the ranking.
The five countries with the lowest fuel prices were Libya, Egypt, Kuwait, Algeria, and Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan’s neighbor. Meanwhile, the highest prices were recorded in Myanmar, Hong Kong, and Iceland.
Among CIS countries, the average price per liter was $0.46 in Kazakhstan, $0.67 in Azerbaijan, $0.72 in Russia, $0.76 in Belarus, and $0.82 in Kyrgyzstan.
Compared to Uzbekistan, fuel was more expensive in Tajikistan ($1.11), Armenia ($1.36), Ukraine ($1.38), and Moldova ($1.44).
Out of 397 cities worldwide, Tashkent ranked 90th for cheapest gasoline prices. The average price in the capital was $0.99 per liter. Among CIS cities included in the index, Astana recorded the lowest prices, while Chișinău had the highest.
