Green energy production in Uzbekistan exceeds 20% of total output
As of 23 September, solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan have produced 8 billion kWh of electricity in 2025, according to official data.
The country currently operates 12 photovoltaic solar plants and 5 wind farms with a total installed capacity of 4,682 megawatts. Their output has helped save 2.424 billion cubic meters of natural gas and prevented 3.552 million tons of harmful emissions from entering the atmosphere.
In total, Uzbekistan’s hydro, solar, and wind power facilities generated 13.22 billion kWh of electricity between January and 23 September. Green energy thus accounted for 22% of the country’s total generation during this period.
Officials noted that this volume of electricity is equivalent to nine months of consumption for 7.3 million households, or the annual demand of 5.5 million households.
