The decision follows incidents reported on September 24 in several districts of Tashkent region, including Piskent, Buka, Bekabad, Qibray, and Oqqorgon, where children attending preschool institutions suffered from food poisoning.
The Investigation Department under the Tashkent Regional Police Department opened a criminal case against responsible officials of several private outsourcing companies supplying food to preschools. The case was launched under part 1 of Article 257-1 of the Criminal Code (violations of sanitary legislation), and preliminary investigative actions are under way.
As part of the inquiry, all children attending preschools that received food from the implicated outsourcing firms are undergoing medical examinations, with diagnostic and treatment measures in place. Authorities confirmed that none of the affected children are in serious or critical condition and that all remain under medical supervision.
The Prosecutor General’s Office also announced that, to prevent similar incidents in the future, inspections are being conducted into how food is supplied to state preschool institutions under outsourcing contracts.
