Uzbek chess players secure six medals at world youth championship in Peru

Mukhiddin Madaminov has been crowned as world champion in youth chess.
The rapid and blitz world championship for youth concluded in the Peruvian capital, featuring 89 players from 19 countries. Uzbek participants delivered outstanding performances.
In the Open rapid category, Muhammadzohid Suyarov won the gold medal, while Mukhiddin Madaminov claimed silver. In the blitz category, Mukhiddin Madaminov took first place, Muhammadzohid Suyarov won bronze, and Humoyun Bekmurodov finished fourth.
Among female competitors, Afruza Hamdamova earned a silver medal in rapid, and Umida Omonova took silver in blitz.
Final standings of Uzbek players:
- Mukhiddin Madaminov – 12 points, gold medal, world champion
- Muhammadzohid Suyarov – 10 points, bronze medal
- Umida Omonova – 9.5 points, silver medal
- Humoyun Bekmurodov – 9 points, 4th place
- Madinabonu Khalilova – 8 points, 6th place
