Uzbekistan’s Civil Aviation Agency has granted Etihad Airways permission to operate scheduled flights between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, the agency’s press service reported.
The airline will deploy Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft on the route, with six flights per week. Services are expected to begin on March 17, 2026.
Earlier, in July 2025, Etihad announced plans to expand its route network in Eurasia, including seven destinations: Almaty, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Baku, Bucharest, Medina, and Tashkent.
It should be recalled that in autumn 2022, Etihad’s subsidiary – Air Arabia Abu Dhabi – launched regular flights between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, operating two flights per week. The low-cost carrier Air Arabia had received authorization to fly to Uzbekistan back in 2020.
