Shavkat Mirziyoyev calls for industrial alliance and green corridors among Turkic states

At the OTS summit in Gabala on October 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a series of major initiatives aimed at strengthening unity and enhancing the role of the Turkic world in global politics, the economy, and the humanitarian sphere.

In particular, the President of Uzbekistan:

– proposed holding the first joint meeting of OTS foreign ministers and intelligence chiefs in Samarkand to coordinate approaches to regional and global security issues;

– supported the early adoption of the Treaty on Strategic Partnership, Eternal Friendship, and Brotherhood, and proposed the development of the OTS Strategy for 2030;

– called for the creation of a Permanent Council of Turkic States on Economic Partnership, with a Project Office in Tashkent;

– initiated the formation of a space of new economic opportunities, including the establishment of an industrial alliance of Turkic states, the “Turkic Green Corridors” system, and the “Green Transformation” consortium;

– proposed the creation of an expert group on organic agriculture and the promotion of a unified brand of Turkic organic products in global markets;

– supported the development of the Middle Corridor and its integration with the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway and the Trans-Afghan Corridor, emphasizing the importance of digitalizing customs procedures and optimizing tariffs;

– called for the expansion of the Turkic Investment Fund’s activities and the adoption of a cooperation program with international and national financial institutions;

– proposed the adoption of a “Roadmap on Artificial Intelligence and the Creative Economy” and the organization of an International Exhibition of the Turkic World in Uzbekistan;

– announced the establishment of the International University of Turkic States in Uzbekistan, which will serve as a platform for joint research and innovation;

– put forward an action plan to combat extremist and radical ideologies and an initiative on environmental education for youth;

– proposed holding an international conference in 2026 titled “The Creative Legacy of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi in the Spiritual Life of the Turkic World.”
