Price of gold per gram rises above UZS 1.6 million in Uzbekistan
New purchase prices for gold bars have been set in Uzbekistan, according to data published by the Central Bank as of October 9.
The price of 1 gram of gold now stands at UZS 1,608,600 – an increase of more than UZS 24,000 in just one day. At the beginning of the year, 1 gram of the precious metal was priced at UZS 1,132,200.
A 5-gram bar now costs UZS 8,043,000, while the prices for 50-gram and 100-gram bars have reached UZS 80,425,000 and UZS 160,851,000, respectively.
On the global market, the price of one troy ounce of gold at the time of publication stood at $4,037.15, equivalent to $129.73 per gram.
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan began selling gold bars in 2020. They are produced from pure gold of 999.9 fineness and are currently available in weights of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 grams.
Daily selling prices of gold bars are published in the national currency on the official website of the Central Bank.
