Greenhouses granted new tax breaks and interest-free debt extension
Social tax rate for greenhouses will be reduced to 1% until the end of 2028.
On 8 October, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree aimed at increasing the efficiency and export potential of greenhouse farms, the Ministry of Justice’s Legal Information Channel reported.
The decree sets a goal to boost the export of fruits, vegetables, and other greenhouse-grown food products to $3.5 billion in 2026 and to $4 billion in 2027.
In return for guaranteed gas supplies, greenhouses will be required to increase the production of fruits and vegetables to 620,000 tons next year and 670,000 tons in 2027, with 70% of that output intended for export.
The president also instructed the expansion of fruit and vegetable cultivation along the edges of agricultural fields. Over the next two years, an additional 35,000 hectares of land will be allocated for this purpose.
To ensure stable operations, greenhouse enterprises will be granted new tax incentives. The repayment period for tax arrears as of 1 October this year will be extended until 2028 without any interest charges.
In addition, the social tax rate for greenhouses will be reduced to 1% for three years – from 1 January 2026 until the end of 2028.
Earlier, the Tax Committee announced an extension of the deadline for paying tax debts and financial penalties for 3,300 greenhouse farms. The agency also established four working groups to address issues related to greenhouse gas supply.
