President Mirziyoyev honors UWW chief Nenad Lalović with the Order of Friendship
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has presented the Order of Friendship to Nenad Lalović, President of the international combat sports federation United World Wrestling (UWW), in recognition of his significant personal contribution to the development and promotion of mass sports and martial arts.
On October 13, President Mirziyoyev received Nenad Lalović, head of United World Wrestling.
During the meeting, the sides discussed ways to expand practical cooperation with this reputable international organization in the areas of organizational and expert support, as well as the promotion of combat sports in Uzbekistan.
Lalović praised the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan’s sports sector – particularly the development of modern and accessible infrastructure, the regular hosting of prestigious tournaments and competitions, and the active engagement of young people in sports activities.

The discussion also covered the organization of major continental and world championships in Uzbekistan, the creation of a Regional Wrestling Academy under the federation’s auspices, and potential partnerships in sports medicine, dietetics, psychology, and other priority areas.
The president emphasized the importance of promoting martial arts among children and young people, introducing modern methods for identifying and training talents, and improving infrastructure – from community clubs and gyms in neighborhoods to schools of athletic excellence and specialized sports complexes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Mirziyoyev presented Nenad Lalović with the Order of Friendship in recognition of his substantial personal contribution to the development and support of mass sports and martial arts in Uzbekistan.
