Cabinet expands list of professions eligible for early retirement

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a list of professions and positions that grant the right to retire before the standard retirement age.

Those eligible for early retirement include:

• employees in the mining industry (with at least 20 years of service);
• workers involved in underground and open-pit mining (25 years or more);
• pilots and flight test personnel (men – from 25 years, women – from 20 years);
• theater, ballet, and circus artists (depending on category – 20 to 30 years of creative experience);
• professional athletes (at least 20 years of service);
• medical personnel of psychiatric hospitals, among others.

Preferential pensions are also granted to:

• war veterans with disabilities;
• mothers of children with disabilities since birth;
• people with dwarfism.

Depending on the occupation, early retirement may be granted:

• regardless of age;
• 10 years earlier;
• 5 years earlier.

Additionally, enterprises are now allowed to propose amendments to the list based on working conditions and the level of occupational risk.
