Tashkent authorities launch raids against illegal car advertising
Raids have begun in Tashkent to combat unauthorized advertising on vehicles, the city administration reported.
The monitoring is being conducted jointly with the Road Safety Department of the Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs and the regional office of the Competition Committee. The aim is to prevent the unlawful placement of advertisements on cars circulating in the city.
During inspections, vehicles displaying advertisements that violated the Law on Advertising and other relevant regulations were identified. According to the city administration, “measures were taken in accordance with the law,” and “awareness-raising work was carried out” with the offenders.
A video released by the city administration shows several car owners removing Yandex Go stickers from their vehicles at the instruction of traffic officers and other monitoring participants.
The raids to ensure compliance with advertising legislation are ongoing. The city administration reminded that advertisements may be placed on vehicles only after obtaining a “passport of the advertising space” and paying the relevant fee.
This document can be issued through the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services, under the “Transport” section. Applicants must submit a sketch of the advertisement or message to be displayed, along with the vehicle number and technical passport.
The passport is issued within five working days. The processing fee is set at 90 percent of the base calculation value – equivalent to UZS 370,800.
