SSS dismantles drug trafficking network in three regions, seizes over kg of narcotics
The State Security Service (SSS), in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, carried out a series of special operations that disrupted illegal drug trafficking activities in several regions of Uzbekistan.

In particular:
- In Urgut district of Samarkand region, a man born in 1998 was detained while attempting to smuggle 8.86 kilograms of opium from Tajikistan. His accomplice was also identified and arrested.
- In Denov district of Surkhandarya region, a previously convicted man was caught in possession of 31 grams of opium. The investigation revealed that he had purchased the drug from a person born in 1978, at whose home an additional 1.483 kilograms of opium were discovered.
- In Gurlan district of Khorezm region, a man with two prior convictions was detained while attempting to sell 877 grams of hashish for $14,000.
Investigations established that the narcotics had been transported into Uzbekistan by Tajik drug couriers using bypass routes.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and all suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention.
Earlier, the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs had conducted similar operations in Tashkent city and the Tashkent and Fergana regions, during which members of a transnational organized drug network were apprehended in Fergana.
