Uzbekistan reimburses UZS 13.5 trillion in VAT to businesses in nine months
Uzbekistan refunded nearly UZS 13.5 trillion in value-added tax (VAT) to taxpayers during the first nine months of this year.
According to a State Tax Committee report, from January to September 2025, a total of 8,129 applications were processed, and VAT reimbursements worth around UZS 13.5 trillion were made to 4,272 organizations.
The largest share of VAT refunds – UZS 9.2 trillion – was directed to the manufacturing sector, followed by UZS 1.7 trillion to the services sector and UZS 820.4 billion to the transport sector.
As of October 1 this year, the number of taxpayers eligible for such refunds increased by 17.6 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 234,711. Most of them operate in the trade, agriculture, and industrial sectors.
Earlier reports indicated that the average nominal monthly salary – including taxes and other payments – amounted to UZS 6.166 million in January–September 2025, up 19.2 percent from the same period last year.
