Uzbekistan and Finland expand partnership in trade, education, and green initiatives
Uzbekistan and Finland have signed a comprehensive package of bilateral documents aimed at strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, geology, innovation, education, and environmental protection.
The agreements were inked following talks between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Alexander Stubb, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan. The two leaders also issued a joint statement at the conclusion of their meeting in Tashkent.
The newly signed documents set the stage for expanded collaboration in a number of key areas, such as:
– development of trade and economic relations;
– cooperation in mineral exploration and extraction;
– joint research in geological sciences and the search for underground resources;
– promotion of digital transformation, innovation, and digital interconnectivity;
– partnerships in social protection and education;
– introduction of a digital learning platform in preschool and general education;
– cooperation in science and innovation;
– strengthening academic capacity in digitalization and water resource management;
– joint action on climate change and environmental protection.
