State Tax Committee refunds nearly UZS 60 billion in VAT to support businesses
Since the start of the year, the State Tax Committee has refunded close to UZS 60 billion in value-added tax (VAT) to businesses operating in several key sectors.
According to the committee, the measure is aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and easing their tax burden. In total, UZS 59.1 billion in VAT refunds were allocated to companies in tourism, food services, and certain agricultural industries.
The largest share of the refunds – UZS 43.7 billion – was returned to 632 public catering enterprises.
As of November 4, 2025, VAT refunds were also issued to:
• 39 tour operators amounting to UZS 1.9 billion;
• 162 hotels totaling UZS 9.1 billion;
• 78 livestock and poultry farms receiving UZS 4.4 billion.
Earlier, it was reported that starting from January 1, 2026, 50 percent of electricity costs used for irrigation purposes by farms cultivating fodder crops with their own pumping units will be covered by the state budget.
