UAE companies to build 500 MW energy storage systems in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan has signed new agreements with the UAE to build energy storage systems with a combined capacity of 500 MW.

According to the Ministry of Energy, agreements were inked with Masdar and AMEA Power to build energy storage systems in Navoi region with a combined capacity of 500 MW. The project includes a 300 MW/600 MWh facility by Masdar and a 200 MW/800 MWh facility by AMEA Power.
The announcement came during the participation of the Uzbek delegation, led by Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, in the ENACT Majlis and ADIPEC 2025 international forums on artificial intelligence and energy held in Abu Dhabi this week.
During the visit, Mirzamakhmudov met with the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and executives of leading companies, including Masdar, AMEA Power, Etihad Waters, XRG, Global South Utilities, Siemens Energy, Honeywell Global Regions, Honeywell Process Solutions, SLB, BP, and other partner firms.
The meetings focused on the progress of ongoing projects, achieved results, and future cooperation plans for expanding green energy and the oil and gas sector between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
To date, Uzbekistan and Masdar have jointly launched five solar power plants and one wind power plant with a total capacity of 1,247 MW, as well as a 63 MW energy storage system. In addition, construction of a 300 MW solar photovoltaic plant is ongoing in Kashkadarya region.
