The talks focused on diversifying the range of products, deepening localization, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in advanced automotive technologies and raw material supply.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of further strengthening the long-term partnership with General Motors, which has played a key role in the development and diversification of Uzbekistan’s automotive industry.
General Motors has produced 1.6 million vehicles in Uzbekistan over the past five years, making the country the second-largest market for the Chevrolet brand after the United States. Uzbekistan also leads in Chevrolet sales across Central Asia and the CIS region.
Both sides stressed the importance of expanding production cooperation and discussed prospects for launching joint projects focused on innovative technologies and resource-efficient solutions in modern mechanical engineering.
