According to data from automated air-quality monitoring stations, the concentration of PM10 fine particulate matter in Tashkent’s air reached 264.1 µg/m³, which does not exceed the permitted standard of 300 µg/m³.
At the same time, PM2.5 levels stood at 186.4 µg/m³, which is 3.1 times higher than the established limit of 60 µg/m³.
Experts note that the sharp change in air temperature has also contributed to the rise in pollution levels. Temperature fluctuations trigger an inversion process, causing fine particles to accumulate in lower layers of the atmosphere and increasing their concentration in the air.
Residents across the country, as well as visitors to the capital, are strongly advised to reduce outdoor activities. Children, the elderly, and individuals with cardiovascular or respiratory illnesses are recommended to stay indoors unless necessary and to use protective masks when going outside.
