Uzbekistan’s ambassador presents credentials to Australia’s Governor-General
Ambassador Alisher Qayumov presented his credentials to Australia’s Governor-General, Samantha Mostyn, on 27 November.
Following the official ceremony, the two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of Uzbekistan–Australia relations, which have been steadily developing in recent years across political, trade and economic, scientific and educational, and other areas.
The parties highlighted the similarities between the economies of Australia and Uzbekistan, including the significant role of cotton and the mining sector, noting that these factors open up broad opportunities for cooperation in innovation and investment.
Governor-General Mostyn expressed her readiness to further strengthen bilateral ties.
For reference Alisher Qayumov serves as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Singapore and, concurrently, to Australia.
