Environmental breaches prompt temporary shutdowns across Tashkent
The National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change has reported on eco-raids conducted in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region.
According to the committee, inspections were carried out at 3,222 facilities in the districts of Qibray, Zangiota, Yuqori Chirchiq, Yangiyol, and Tashkent district, as well as in Tashkent city, to assess compliance with legislation on the protection of atmospheric air. A total of 24 violations were identified.
Inspections conducted from 25 November to 9 December revealed 895 violations, for which administrative case files were prepared. Operations were temporarily suspended for 10 working days at 75 facilities, 66 in Tashkent region and 9 in Tashkent city, due to their harmful impact on the environment and breaches of the law.
In addition, filters were installed at 37 greenhouse facilities, 6 greenhouses were connected to the gas network, and 7 facilities submitted applications for technical specifications to be connected to gas.
