Tax Committee reports 12.1 trillion UZS in violations over eleven months
From January to November 2025, the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan conducted audits of 3,305 high-risk companies and individual entrepreneurs (IEs) for potential tax noncompliance. This represents 0.6 percent of the country’s total 563,900 active taxpayers.
The total identified tax risk reached UZS 10.7 trillion, while confirmed violations following the audits amounted to an even higher UZS 12.1 trillion.
The committee noted that the majority of violations were concentrated in the trade and catering sector – UZS 7.7 trillion, accounting for 64 percent of the total. This was followed by the manufacturing and construction sectors, each with around UZS 1.1 trillion, or roughly 9 percent. The services sector recorded UZS 858.8 billion, slightly over 7 percent. Agriculture showed UZS 610.9 billion, about 5 percent, while the transport sector accounted for UZS 316 billion, roughly 2.5 percent. Remaining industries collectively made up around UZS 326.6 billion, less than 3 percent.
During the inspections, 1,594 business entities were found to have hidden tax bases totaling over UZS 21.2 trillion. Of these, in 584 cases, entrepreneurs failed to report sales amounting to UZS 8.8 trillion.
In 508 companies, inventories revealed missing goods worth UZS 6.2 trillion – products that were absent from warehouses or retail outlets. In another 502 cases, businesses held or sold unaccounted goods valued at UZS 6.2 trillion.
The committee also reported that taxes due reached UZS 6.5 trillion, of which entrepreneurs paid UZS 3.4 trillion, covering 46 percent of the total amount.
