Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan lead tourist inflows to Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan welcomed 10.7 million foreign visitors for tourism purposes in January–November 2025, marking a sharp increase in inbound travel, according to the National Statistics Committee. The largest numbers of tourists arrived from neighboring Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.
Official data show that the total number of foreign tourists rose by 3.5 million compared with the same period last year, representing a 47.4 percent year-on-year increase. The figures point to growing tourism activity and a strengthening of regional travel flows into the country.
Neighboring states accounted for the bulk of arrivals, underscoring Uzbekistan’s strong position as a regional travel hub. Kyrgyzstan ranked first with 3 million visitors, followed by Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, each with 2.5 million tourists.
Russia placed fourth with 923,800 visitors, while Afghanistan ranked fifth with 429,400. Turkmenistan followed with 341,400 arrivals. Among non-Central Asian countries, China recorded 250,500 tourists, Turkey 161,900, India 73,400, and the Republic of Korea 44,100.
Overall, the significant growth in foreign tourist arrivals in January–November 2025 reflects rising international interest in Uzbekistan, with neighboring countries continuing to dominate the inbound tourism structure.
