Uzbekistan welcomes 6.5 million foreign tourists in first half of 2026
More than 6.5 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes during the first six months of 2026, marking a sharp increase from the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Official data show that 6,565,410 international tourists traveled to Uzbekistan between January and June, up by 1.3 million visitors, or 24.9%, compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
The largest number of visitors came from neighboring Kyrgyzstan, with 1,875,332 arrivals. Kazakhstan ranked second with 1,553,688 visitors, followed by Tajikistan with 1,471,670.
Russia was the fourth-largest source market, accounting for 585,558 tourist arrivals. It was followed by Afghanistan with 238,925 visitors and China with 223,479.
The remaining countries in the top ten were Turkmenistan, with 164,211 visitors, Turkey with 95,466, India with 26,450, and Germany with 22,294.
