Georgia extradites two internationally wanted suspects to Uzbekistan on fraud and trafficking charges
Georgia has extradited two Uzbek citizens who were internationally wanted on charges of large-scale fraud and human trafficking.
The transfer took place at Tbilisi International Airport, where Georgia’s competent authorities handed the suspects over to representatives of the National Central Bureau of Interpol under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. Both individuals had been placed on Interpol’s international wanted list in connection with serious criminal offenses.
Authorities said the effective use of Interpol communication channels enabled law enforcement agencies to track the suspects’ cross-border movements. The two were subsequently detained in Georgia as part of coordinated operational search measures.
The extradition was approved by Georgia’s Ministry of Justice following a formal request supported by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan and based on investigative materials submitted by Uzbek authorities. After the completion of all procedures required under Georgian law, the suspects were transported to Tashkent.
Upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport, the extradited individuals were handed over to Uzbek law enforcement officers for further investigation and prosecution.
