Services accounted for 67.9% of Tashkent’s gross regional product (GRP) in the first half of 2026, the largest share among Uzbekistan’s regions, according to data from the National Statistics Committee. Tashkent’s GRP reached UZS 226 trillion in January-June, up 13.3% from the same period the previous year.

The capital accounted for 21.1% of Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product during the period, the largest contribution among the country’s regions. Industry made up 20.1% of Tashkent’s GRP, while construction accounted for 12%.

As of August 1, 2026, Uzbekistan showcased a thriving environment with 20,973 active enterprises and organizations featuring foreign investment. Tashkent stands out as a hub, hosting 13,114 of these businesses, alongside an additional 2,901 in the surrounding Tashkent region.
