Uzhydromet issues avalanche risk for six regions
Due to expected precipitation and fluctuations in air temperature, an avalanche risk has been declared in mountainous areas of Uzbekistan. Authorities are urging the public to take precautionary measures.

An avalanche warning has been issued for several mountainous areas across the country, according to Uzhydromet.
From December 31, 2025, through January 5, 2026, the risk of avalanches is in effect in the following regions due to anticipated snowfall and temperature changes:
- Kashkadarya region – Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, and Shakhrisabz districts;
- Surkhandarya region – Baysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, and Uzun districts;
- Samarkand region – Nurabad, Kushrabad, Samarkand, and Urgut districts;
- Jizzakh region – Bakhmal and Zamin districts;
- Tashkent region – Bostanlyk, Parkent, and Akhangaran districts (Chatkal Range);
- Namangan region – Pap district
Residents of mountainous areas, tourists, and drivers traveling through mountain terrain are advised to observe safety precaution
