Abdusattorov and Sindarov among 2025’s top chess earners
Uzbek grandmasters Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javokhir Sindarov ranked among the top 10 chess players with the highest prize earnings in 2025.

Abdusattorov secured ninth place on the list, competing in 16 major international tournaments and earning $361,800 over the year. His largest single-tournament prize amounted to $85,000.
Closing the top 10 is FIDE World Cup winner Javokhir Sindarov. He participated in 11 international competitions in 2025, earning $349,900, with his highest single-tournament prize reaching $120,000.
The leader in total prize money worldwide was Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen. He competed in 16 tournaments and became the only chess player to surpass $1 million in prize earnings, totaling $1.46 million.
Second place went to American grandmaster Fabiano Caruana with $889,600, followed by Levon Aronian in third with $751,900. Fourth place was claimed by American Hikaru Nakamura, who earned $588,900.
