Foreign tourist arrivals to Uzbekistan jump by nearly 47 percent in 2025
Last year, 11.7 million foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes, nearly 47 percent more than in the corresponding period of 2024. During this period, the number of visitors from Afghanistan increased 6.5-fold, from China 3.8-fold, and from Turkmenistan by 87 percent. Excluding CIS countries, Afghanistan accounted for the largest number of tourists.

In 2025, a total of 11.7 million foreign citizens traveled to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes, the National Statistics Committee reported. Compared with the same period in 2024, this figure rose by nearly 3.7 million people, or 46.8 percent.
Kun.uz analyzed changes in the number of foreign visitors to Uzbekistan by country in 2024 and 2025:
- Kyrgyzstan – 3.3 million (2.33 million in 2024);
- Tajikistan – 2.7 million (2.32 million);
- Kazakhstan – 2.7 million (1.48 million);
- Russia – 984,000 (788,000);
- Afghanistan – 476,000 (73,000);
- Turkmenistan – 370,000 (198,000);
- China – 279,000 (74,000);
- Turkey – 175,000 (119,000);
- India – 81,000 (71,000);
- South Korea – 46,000 (41,000).
During the reporting period, the number of visitors from China increased 3.8-fold, from Turkmenistan by 87 percent, and from Kazakhstan by 82 percent. Excluding CIS countries, Afghanistan accounted for the highest number of tourists. In particular, the number of visitors from Afghanistan increased nearly 6.5-fold last year. This growth may be linked to the opening of a logistics center in Termez.
Overall, 9.5 million visitors, or 81.5 percent of the total, were citizens of neighboring countries.
