Armenia appoints new ambassador to Uzbekistan
Armenia has appointed Georgi Kocharyan as its new ambassador to Uzbekistan, with the diplomatic mission to be conducted from his residence in Yerevan.
The relevant presidential order was published on the website of the Armenian President’s press service. Under the decree, Kocharyan will represent Armenia in Uzbekistan on a non-resident basis.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgi Kocharyan previously served as head of the Eurasian Region Department, giving him extensive experience in regional diplomacy.
He replaces Aram Grigoryan, who had led Armenia’s diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan since 2019.
