Under the new rules, residents can now apply online for a residency status that allows them to use paid parking spaces near their homes. The service is available free of charge through the my.gov.uz portal, and residency permits are issued for a period of one year.

Holders of a valid residency permit are entitled to park free of charge in paid parking zones within their designated area between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Outside these hours, standard parking fees apply.

To obtain a permit, applicants must log in to the my.gov.uz portal and select the service titled “Poytaxt Parking residency permit.” After completing the required information and submitting an electronic application, the request is reviewed. Once approved, the permit becomes active and can be used immediately.

According to current regulations, a residency permit is issued for one vehicle only. A maximum of two permits may be granted per residential address.

The new procedure was approved by a decision of the Tashkent city mayor dated December 25, 2025. It introduces residency status for citizens living in areas where paid parking facilities are located or in adjacent zones. The rules entered into force on February 1, 2026.

The decision also provides for the development of a separate administrative regulation governing the issuance of residency parking permits. Oversight of the implementation of the new system has been assigned to the Tashkent city administration.
