President Mirziyoyev and Sultan of Oman discuss regional stability and upcoming historic visit
On 4 March, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. The two leaders discussed the complex regional situation in the Middle East, expressing serious concern over the growing instability that has characterized the region in recent days.

According to the presidential press service, the conversation focused on the need for immediate de-escalation. President Mirziyoyev voiced his deep concern regarding recent security incidents within the region, including those affecting Omani territory. He emphasized that Uzbekistan remains a steadfast proponent of resolving all confrontations and conflicts through peaceful, political-diplomatic means and constructive dialogue.
The President of Uzbekistan specifically acknowledged the Sultanate’s active role as a mediator. He praised Oman’s consistent efforts to maintain regional security and its balanced approach to handling multifaceted geopolitical tensions.
President Mirziyoyev expressed his sincere gratitude to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq for the conditions being created to ensure the safety of Uzbek citizens and the assistance provided for those seeking to return to their homeland amidst the regional crisis.
Beyond security concerns, the leaders reviewed the progress of bilateral relations. The Sultan of Oman thanked the Uzbek leader for his sentiments of solidarity and expressed confidence that President Mirziyoyev’s upcoming historic state visit to Muscat will be held at the highest level.
Both sides noted that the visit would mark a fundamentally new chapter in the partnership between Tashkent and Muscat, expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and transport logistics.
